CR5 Report [PDF 571Kb].
Overview
The primary objective of DART Work Package CR5 is to “make it as easy as possible for researchers to deposit datasets and other digital objects into institutional repositories”. In order to accomplish this, the following objectives are specified:
-
Develop workflow steps and a user interface (UI) for software to enable researchers to easily ingest/deposit communication into repositories and receive identifiers;
-
Determine workflow to enable researchers to easily ingest/deposit communication units into a repository and receive a persistent identifier;
-
Determine required metadata to be captured/machine-generated;
-
Prototype data-entry screens;
-
Implement into ARROW software development environment;
-
Test usability and modify software as required; and
-
Move into ARROW production software.
Utilising these objectives as a base, CR5 was able to specify a series of recommendations outlining a more effective user interface for researchers that would enable them to easily submit digital resources into repositories.
